Graduation
I'm officially graduated from UNM with my bachelor's degree in Public Relations. Seriously a miracle that I made it through in 4 years. There ceremony was short and my parents took me and my almost family-in-law out to dinner to celebrate.
While I will quickly admit that I have been eagerly looking forward to the end of school since my freshman year, now that it's over I can say it definitely came faster than I thought it would. That's right, I'm in the middle of one of those "where is my life going/time is flying" moments right now. I can honestly say that I feel like I'm not old enough to graduating college and gettting married, but at the same time looking back four years before seems like a whole other lifetime. Like I was a whole other person (which is probably true in some sense). Yep, I'm just a walking, emotional contradiction right now. Praying that direction for the career portion of my life would come obviously and quickly through the rest of this year. There are just too many options/ideas floating around in this head of mine now that studying and papers are finished. I couldn't wait for a break from school and now that it's here I don't know what to do with myself. Irony.

Grand Finale
My last day of classes before graduating was yesterday. I will be officially graduated one week from today.
Seriously, doesn't feel real. I'm so so glad that it is.
The last 4 days had me studying for a few tests and writing more than a few papers... However, I can't feel too sorry for myself. Procrastination lays all the blame on me.
It is done now though, and in a couple weeks my family and I will be cruisin' down to the carribbean for a week to celebrate said graduation and my mom's completion of chemo (officially in remission, by the by). Woooo whoooo!

The final stretch
With only two weeks of classes left, panic is starting to set in.
2 weeks, 5 papers, 2 tests, and what feels like madness.

This is my life right now.
But on May 13th, I'll be wearing this and not thinking about school for a long while.

7 Weeks is Not Very Long
In exactly 7 weeks I will be graduating with my bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from UNM. 7 weeks from today is actually the graduation ceremony, meaning in 6 weeks I'll be done with all my classes.
holy cow.
I've been trying to remember what my first semester of college was like. It feels like WAY more than just 4 years ago. Don't you worry, this is going to be a post looking back on how I've grown in the last 4 years and how people, relationships, and priorities change so much in just a few years, especially in those years (that post will come, I'm sure), but rather a moment ofpanic excitement that college is coming to an end in a few weeks. It has snuck up on me. Funny how that can happen.

Last First Day of School
I began my last semester at UNM today and am on track to graduate in May! Fingers crossed, though, because this semester is going to be a doozie. I've decided to take on a hefty work load with my classes but I think it's going to be one of my favorite semesters. All my classes look like they're going to be pretty good. Very little mind-numbing busy work, hallelujah!
Although, it was only the first day back I am finding my self drifting toward exhaustion already. Not a good sign, but probably well worth it since I was able to go to a good friend's CD release show last night, Abraham the Poor. You can check out his music here. Another friend opened for him, his music project is called Lowercase Noises, and you can check out his stuff here. That's right, people, shameless plugs for my friends. I stand by my choices... but seriously, check it out. It's good stuff, let me tell ya!

Work, School, Work, School, Work... this is my life.
School has started and is now in full force, I'm still working part time, and have started an internship at the UNM hospital in their public affairs department... it's going to be a busy semester! It's fantastic to have a routine back, and even more fantastic that this is my last year of school (hopefully!). I can't believe how quickly college is going by, and my life in general. Things have gotten so busy lately. I feel so tired all the time, but am always wanting to add "one more" thing to my schedule... how very practical. I was able to talk with 3 of the amazing girls I went to Namibia with this morning and hear how life back in the states is going for each of them. It reminds me of how much I miss them and how much the Lord worked in our individual hearts and our friendships with one another over the short weeks we were together. I can't wait to hear from them again, and hopefully see them again! To share the precious community that was so cherished while we were in Africa. At the same time though, I feel the Lord reminding me that He is my All in All. No person or group of people at home or across the country could take His place, could satisfy like He does. As life has gotten a little more hectic with being back to school and continuing to help with family things and work as well, it's occurred to me how skewed I allow my priorities to become without even noticing. I'm grateful to have a God who graciously and lovingly takes my hand and pulls me back to Him, especially when I've so carelessly put Him on the back burner of my life as things get busy... a bad habit I've develop over the last few years. BUT He is always faithful to call me back to Him.
"Then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there." Hosea 2:14
What an amazing Savior.
