Peace that Transcends

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
-Philippians 4:7

It's the kind of peace that only makes sense when you don't think too hard about it. The kind that grips your soul and you pray so hard that it won't go away. The kind that you feel you need just to get through the next minutes, let along the rest of the day.

It's a peace that when tragedy surrounds you, your heart can say with confidence, "It is well with my soul." The peace that is not passive and shying away from confrontation, but rising up to calm the seas. It's beautiful and heart breaking all at the same time. It transcends.

It's the peace that shows its self in full after your mom goes to be with Jesus, when you lose the baby right before she's expected to arrive, when sickness won't leave you alone, when depressions weighs heavy on your shoulders, when work is too overwhelming, when friendships seem to fall apart... it lifts the weights and it reconciles.
